“Education is Empowering”
This fund was established in 1990 in order to aid Family Service Society, Inc. (FSSI) in sustainability and perpetuity. The mission of FFSI is to encourage, empower, and educate individuals, families, and communities to improve their quality of life. FSSI believes everyone requires and deserves the loving environment of a caring family. FSSI gives families the opportunity to pass on the legacy of a healthy family, community and character.
The fund was created when the Community Foundation was newly established. The Community Foundation was eager to increase participation, and FSSI believed sustainability was vital.
FSSI provides prevention and intervention for domestic violence and education for prevention of child abuse and neglect. It also assists new parents and their children through promotion of healthy families, and it works with at-risk kids in schools and detention centers.
