The purpose of this fund is to provide financial assistance to an Oak Hill High School graduating senior; one who plans to further his or her academic studies at a college or university of their choice.
We are fortunate to have generous alumni, OHHS friends and family help fund the OHHS Alumni Memorial Scholarship fund with cash and stock transfers. Year around the fund’s founders are dedicated to the effort of seeking out donors who wish to help our graduating seniors.
The Oak Hill Alumni Memorial Scholarship Fund was founded in November 2014, in memory of 1985 OHHS graduate, Jon Hudson. Jon was a natural leader and well-liked by many of his schoolmates; serving in the student council for several years before ultimately becoming student body president his junior year.
Jon was involved in and excelled in many other activities, including football, track, FCA and Campus Life. Jon, who began playing the drums at an early age, also participated in the Oak Hill concert band and swing choir. Like many actively-involved students, Jon had a heavy schedule but was able to excel academically and eventually enter the pre-med curriculum at Indiana University in the fall of 1985.
After battling cancer for almost a year, Jon succumbed to his illness in November 2013. Many OHHS alumni, teachers, family, friends, and students celebrated his life on December 4th in Marion.
