About Marion Parks and Recreation Department
The mission of the Marion Parks and Recreation Department is to enhance the quality of life and community pride by providing and maintaining safe, accessible, affordable parks, recreational programs, and facilities.

About the Project
Pickleball is a fun sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. You can play this sport as singles or doubles and it’s played on a smaller version of a tennis court. It is a healthy exercise for all ages.
The enhancement of what is now blighted back tennis courts is needed so both objectives fit the Marion Parks Department Mission statement. This project enhances our facilities at Matter Park. It takes an old, cracked filled – unusable facility and turns it into a new exciting activity for the community. The goal for this project is to create 6 new Pickleball courts on the three backcourts at Matter Park and put up new lighting around both the Pickleball and tennis courts.

Crowdfunding Rules:
All crowdfunding donations for the cause must come to the Community Foundation between April 19th and June 19th to be counted toward the match.

If the project does not meet the matching goal within these 60-days, they will not be awarded their matching grant from the Community Foundation but will receive all donations that have been made by donors for this project.
