To support general charitable causes in Grant County, Indiana.
I moved to Marion for a job, what I received was a community filled with love and support for one another. John lived in Indianapolis when we met, and we traveled over 80 miles EACH WAY multiple times during the week to see each other and be together. John had never really experienced Marion until we met, he quickly came to understand just how special that little city in Indiana was. He saw and embraced the abundance of heartfelt love that I exhibited towards the community.
We developed a shared passion and commitment to do our part to help it thrive. As a result, we decided to establish a Charitable Giving Fund, a little fund set up at the Community Foundation of Grant County, Indiana, Inc. where the interest earned on our contributions will go to support Grant County as a whole and its residents.
We knew that we would not be on this earth forever, but we prayed that this fund could continue to provide some much needed help to the community that welcomed us, loved on us and soon called us one of its own.
If you feel moved to do so, I ask you to make a donation to our fund in memory of my husband, John Thomas Madry, Jr. This fund is an important part of the legacy we hope to leave behind.
P.S.: You can make a donation to this fund anytime your heart moves you to, it is not going anywhere and it is my prayer that my children and grandchildren and my offspring for many years to come will continue to contribute to this fund and take part in the dream and desire that John and I share(d); to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Thank you in advance for your support, condolences and prayers.
John and Karen Madry established this fund as a part of the Give To Grant Collaborative. These funds serve the Community Foundation mission which is to connect people, resources, and causes to promote a sustainable impact for the betterment of Grant County. The Collaborative, allows our Board to combine generous donations with others’ and pool our resources to do something strong and impactful for our community.
